A Savior Is Born: Rocks Tell the Story of Christmas by Patti Rokus

In A Savior Is Born: Rocks Tell the Story of Christmas, artist and author Patti Rokus uses something wonderfully ordinary - stones gathered from nature - to recreate the Nativity and tell the story of the very first Christmas.

Carefully arranged rocks become Mary and Joseph, shepherds, angels, animals, and the infant Jesus, creating scenes that feel both remarkably simple and full of wonder. Against nature-inspired backgrounds, these humble materials invite children and adults alike to slow down, look closely, and discover how imagination can transform the things we find around us.

This distinctive Christmas picture book offers a beautiful way to share the biblical Nativity story with children while also encouraging creativity and observation. It may even inspire a winter walk to gather a few special stones and see what stories they might tell.

A meaningful addition to the family Christmas book basket, a lovely read-aloud during Advent, and a heartfelt gift for families who want to keep the story of Jesus at the center of the season.
